noo nothing special here
Tardar! okay so basically when you open it up, there isn't coconut water, but instead there is Jelly. Now according to the owner the jelly is 100% natural and is formed by some super complex process of heating and cooling. I went along with the story till i realised that the coconuts were actually opened before i got it! And so, i think that they just added jelly powder into the coconut and let it harden. JY bought one to take home and the guy said it could last for 5 hours without a fridge. If its natural, i don't think it would last that long...
The coconut cost me 3.70 and it was SMALL. Besides the fact that the jelly was inside it, there was nothing really special about it. I enjoyed it though. I shall say...
6/10.
Next stop was the one and only "famous" PENANG CHENDOL STALL! wooooooo!
This place is located in one of the lorongs in Penang road. I've been hearing alot about this place and didn't get the chance to go there. I would have to say, it was one of the best chendol I have ever eaten. I also have to say that this is one of the most satisfying "famous" food that i have eaten so far. all the rest were... disappointing. [maybe i was expecting too much...]
Uncle laughing all the way to the bank...
Ahhh Chendol...
Even PCK ate here... [this is how they got famous laaa =p ]Next Up: "Famous" Mee Goreng,
To tell you the truth, This was in fact the best mee goreng i've eaten. And I have NOT eaten many at all. I found it really nice but not up to the standard of "famous". One plate of the mee costs RM4 and considering the amount of sotong in it, it was worth it.
My rating
7/10
Credits to JY for the pictures, and cE for playing the part of the driver. Special thanks to Soony who packed a chendol to take "home". [pssst. It ended up in somebody elses stomach... *wink *wink]
